How to reserve a date?

  • Email us at GatesFarmandVineyard@gmail.com stating you are ready to book a date at which time we will begin the contract phase. We suggest that you send an email stating you are ready to book and your preferred date and include a backup date incase your preferred date is booked. To hold the date you must return the signed contract, $2,000 payment and day of event insurance packet.

My preferred date is unavailable do you having a waiting list for cancelations?

  • No, due to the high interest and request for events, cancelations are posted as available dates as soon as a cancellation is made. You can check our available dates page here.

Is there a deposit?  When are additional payments due? Do you offer a payment plan?

  • To hold a date you must review and sign the contract and return it with a payment $2,000 that goes towards your total rental fee. Then the next payment of 50% of the remaining total is due 90 days after the first payment and signing of the contract.  The remaining balance is due 60 days out from the event. If your event is less than five months out contact Gates Farm and Vineyard to arrange a payment plan.

  • Payments are non refundable.

  • You may pay each amount earlier than requested.

Why do I need day of event insurance?

  • We, like you, hope your wedding goes perfectly but in case it does not you will definitely want event insurance. The main reason for event insurance is the client needs the policy to cover their liquor liability because they are hosting the event and providing the alcohol. We require the client to get a day of insurance policy in the amount of $1 million or have an endorsement added to a home owner or renters policy with Gates Farm and Vineyard being an additional insured to provide coverage to the client in case of cancelation, damage, accident or liquor liability the client assumes by hosting the event and providing alcohol.

What if an mandatory evacuation for a hurricane or government mandated shutdown like COVID happens?

  • We are good people. We will do everything to make your special day happen and will re-schedule your event to another day that year at no cost to whatever day you prefer.

Preferred form of payment.

  • Electronic transfer is the preferred form of payment.

Do you have a bridal suite and groom quarters?

  • Boy do we! We have one of the largest bridal suites in Southeast Texas and the Houston region. It has two separate private rooms for the bride and bridesmaids to prepare for the big day. The suite has a full kitchen and it is full of European antiques and a European antique dinning table, living room, and private bathroom with clawfoot tub. We did not forget about the gentlemen. We have a separate large private stately room for the groom and his best friends.

What is the average budget of a couple getting married at Gates Farm and Vineyard?

  • This is an important question and we believe the total wedding budget of a bride that is getting married at Gates Farm and Vineyard is between $15,000 and $45,000. Ideally, we would love for our brides to have a solid grasp on their budget before booking with us so that even after securing our venue for their special day, they would still have the room in their budget to customize their wedding in the way they desire. What is the capacity?

  • 300.

Do I need to schedule a tour or can I just stop by?

  • Gates Farm and Vineyard is a working farm and vineyard. The gates of the farm are controlled access and we kindly request that all tours are by appointment only. You can request a tour here.

After we tour or book can we come back for another tour?

  • Instead of private second tours we will have a monthly open house for all of our booked couples and there will be different dates you can choose from. For further information on this, check out our Open House page.

Is there a food and beverage or guest count minimum?

  • It is your day and there are no minimums.

Do we have to utilize your caterers and bar service?

  • Once again it is your day and we do not force you to have a certain caterer or bar service. The vendors you choose must have insurance and add Gates Farm and Vineyard as an additional insured for the day of. The bartenders must be TABC certified and are hired out, not a friend or family.

  • The caterer must be full service. Drop off only service is not allowed.

  • All vendors must be pre-approved by Gates Farm and Vineyard and Gates Farm and Vineyard.

Are we allowed to have family/friends make the meal or serve the alcohol?

  • No, we respect that your family and friends are willing to help out with the event but in the long run it is not the best option for you or family/friends. We can help to suggest some economical solutions so that your family/friends will be able to enjoy the day and you will not have to worry about the clean up and liability that comes with providing food yourselves. Only TABC certified bartenders are allowed to serve alcohol including kegs.

Are we allowed to bring the alcohol and have hired TABC bar tenders serve it?

  • Yes.

Will there be another event the same day?

  • No, we only host one event a day to ensure your day is special and private.

Are there overnight accommodations close by?

  • Yes, there are plenty of options less than ten miles away. We are conveniently located between Beaumont and Lumberton. We are 7 miles to Beaumont and 6.5 miles to lumberton.

How many cars will the parking area accommodate?

  • Our parking areas will hold 140 cars.

Do you offer straight and round tables?

  • We offer straight tables with the majority of our inventory being round tables.

Do you provide table linens, runners, center pieces, cups or silverware?

  • No, we provide an elegant beautiful venue, tables, upgraded chairs and an amazing stress free experience.

What happens in case of rain?

  • In case of rain you have the option of setting up the area near the cocktail area for an indoor ceremony or any other area on the first floor that you choose.

We plan to have our ceremony offsite, or only plan to have the ceremony at the Stone Ender Barn, does your price change?

  • We only host one event a day and our rental fee remains the same however you choose to use the Stone Ender Barn.

Do you allow dogs onsite to play a part in the ceremony?

  • Yes. With pre-approval we are dog friendly, with specific rules. Dogs are only allowed at the ceremony and for pictures. Dogs must be on a leash and someone besides the bride and groom must be responsible for the pet. Dogs are not allowed on furniture or near the food. Dogs must be taken off the premise or kenneled after ceremony and pictures.

What time will we have access to the Stone Ender Barn?

  • You will have access to the venue at the time listed on your contract. Check our standard hours on our Investment page under the day of week you booked.

Do we need a “wedding coordinator”?

  • Yes. We highly recommend a profesional wedding coordinator, we are not coordinators, and we require our brides to have a professional wedding coordinator or designate a person that will preform that roll. We strongly suggest you hire a professional to fill that role.

What time do you suggest we start the ceremony?

  • We suggest 1.5 hours before sunset but we would ask you to consult your professional photographer.

Will the tables and chairs be arranged for my ceremony?

  • While we will provide tables and chairs at the venue we will leave the artistic and specific arrangements up to your capable and professional vendors.

Will we be able to access the location early to rehearse our ceremony or decorate?

  • You will have access to the venue in the times allotted in the signed contract. See investment page for times. You are welcome to bring the wedding planner, coordinator, pastor, DJ or anyone who may assist you in planning the event to one of our monthly open houses, which may be helpful for planning your rehearsal.

Can we have fireworks on the property?

  • Fireworks or sparklers are not allowed. (with very specific requirements and a professional coordinator there can be a accommodation made for the use of sparklers during the exit of the bride and groom)

What can we not use at our exit?

  • You may not use rice, glitter, bird seed, flower petals confetti or other similar item.

Can vehicle be left overnight?

  • No vehicle may be left overnight. We are less than 10 miles from numerous hotels and shuttle services can be utilized. We are a private working farm with locked gates and we appreciate your understanding.

What time does the music need to end?

  • The last dance should be thirty minutes before the end of the rental period but will be no later than 11:30pm so the exit can occur immediately after.

Can vendors and rental companies drop off and pick up items outside the rental period?

  • Please advise your vendors and rental companies to drop off all items during your designated rental period due to the farm being closed outside of hours. Your vendors and rental companies are professionals and can perform inside the rental time framework.

How many people can you seat at the tables comfortably?

  • Our round tables are 66” and we recommend 10 people per table, but in a pinch you can fit 11 per table .

  • Our 8’ x 40” wood cross leg tables can comfortably seat 10.

When do we need to have the final guest count?

  • The final head count will be finalized along with the final payment 60 days out.

What is the event clean up process?

  • Your professional vendors will leave the Stone Ender Barn as they found it and will be required to leave with everything they have brought.

Can we take photos around the farm and vineyard on our wedding day?

  • Yes, we would love to assist you in location recommendations.

Can we have our vendor install pipe and drape?

  • Yes

Can we nail or tape decorations to the walls or hang things like banners, lights, and streamers from the beams?

  • No nails or tape are permitted. You can tie or drape things from the beams but no permanent damage should be made.

Are candles allowed?

  • Yes but the candle and flame must be fully contained inside of a glass container.

Can I rent extra hours to come before the rental period starts?

  • Our standard rental period is for 14 hours which is more time than most other venues. If you need to come earlier than the standard rental period you can purchase extra hours at the rate of $300 per hour.

Are we allowed back into the grooms quarters or bridal suite during the reception?

  • No, to better protect your belongings the bridal suite and grooms suite will be locked during the reception. A member of the staff will help secure items in a location so they can be retrieved after the event is over.
